Ha muerto Josetxo. Me dicen que se suicidó ayer. De momento no se más. Se le conoció principalmente por ser el cantante de Cancer Moon. Pero primordialmente, además de un grandísimo artista, era una persona encantadora. Yo le conocí hacía el año 88, me lo presentó Jon Zamarripa -a quien yo conocía de Los Extraños- en el Kubil. Empezaban a tocar juntos y para mi eran los primeros años de Mamorro. El tema "Salón Xanadú" de Jugos de Otros (la banda que tuvo junto a Jose Izkue -El Desvan del Macho- antes de Cancer Moon) dió título y sintonía a un programa de radio que hacía yo junto a Tito Gomez en aquella epoca...

Después de acabar Cancer Moon, Josetxo montó la primera tienda de Loreak Mendian en Bilbao. También pinchaba en el Kafe Antzokia. Con Atom Rhumba volvió a los escenarios y sacó un nuevo disco. Luego llegó la colaboración con Mattin y la creación de Josetxo Grieta. Actualmente estaba preparando nuevas canciones con Akauzazte. Hace 15 días fue la última vez que hablé con él. Hace un mes la última vez que le vi.

Agur, Josetxo! Seguiras vivo en el recuerdo aunque te hayas ido.

FLUTWACHT
Flutwacht es el seudónimo bajo el que Daniel C Simon, uno de los mayores agitadores del underground industrial de Alemania y director de sellos como Apocalyptic Radio, Tourette Tapes y Nervous Nurse, realiza sus trabajos más intensos.
Simon, natural de el Sarre (Alemania) lleva en la música desde 1994 y en 1996 comienza su etapa experimental.
En sus performances-directos se vale de diversos artefactos analógicos y chatarras metálicas para realizar un set de gran carga catárquica y emocional, con mucho énfasis en el aspecto visual mediante el uso de proyecciones y de su propio cuerpo como instrumento. Los que lo han visto dicen que ya no podrán olvidar nunca su intensidad.

BASELINE
Baseline es el nombre artístico de la bilbaína Pilar Baizan. Tras pasar por algunos de los festivales de electrónica y experimentación más importantes  (LEM de Barcelona, el MEM de Bilbao, SONAR también de Barcelona, EXPERIMENTACLUB Madrid, SONIC CIRCUITS Washington DC) Larraskito la ha elegido para talonear al alemán Flutwacht en L’Mono.

Noise Destruction Syndrome... Tongeren / Belgium
(fifteen) different units count in Flutwachts' set-up. Those included
a battery of effectpedals, a couple multi-effect-boxes, at least one
sampler, a drumcomputer and some other gear like a MD-player.
Flutwacht (name means "waiting for the tide") created a heavy blast
of powerelectronic drones with some quite aggressive moments that sure made me move back and forth. Still wondering though if 15 units aren't a bit overkill - in my experience too many distortionpedals put in series just work against each other.
Visually elements in his set included a contactmiked iron pipe that
he shook in the air, but didn't really had an effect on the sound,
and a contactmiked meat-grinder, that did have an audible effect, but not that much as one would expect - Maybe one of the effects on the table was a compressor?

Bandintern nennt sich der gespielte Stil Apocalyptic Radio, was zwar weit gefächert, jedoch so konkret wie nur irgendwie möglich scheint, treffen doch hier nach und nach ruhige, düstere Elemente aufeinander, die sich gegenseitig auszumerzen scheinen und schlußendlich in den finalen Untergang münden...

The first project that I saw was Flutwacht, who I had already met
last year, when I was on tour with Crank Sturgeon and Gastric Female Reflex - In comparison with the one Flutwacht gig that I had seen so far. Flutwacht had much less pedals with him, and threw in a bit more body in his set, banging and scraping a sheet of metal and an empty oil barrel. He did play quite long
(some 60 minutes, cool thing is that he pushed his set another 15
minutes beyond the moment when they came to tell him that it was about time to stop).

SoiSong es el nuevo proyecto musical de Peter Christopherson junto a Ivan Pavlov. El debut de éste proyecto tiene lugar en Japón en Marzo de 2008. A esta actuación seguirán una en Bangkok (lugar de residencia del grupo) y otra en Singapore. Posteriormente habrá algunas actuaciones muy escogidas y exclusivas en Europa.
Para la Noche de los Museos en el Museo Guggenheim Bilbao contamos con una de éstas escogidas actuaciones.
La música de SoiSong combina música visceral hecha con ordenador con voces artificiales e instrumentaciones de los mares del sur. Joven energía rusa (Pavlov) y decadente madurez británica (Christopherson).
Su directo en Bilbao irá acompañado de proyecciones en video.

Peter Christopherson funda el mítico grupo británico Throbbing Gristle en 1976. Throbbing Gristle son unos de los padres del tecno y padres indiscutibles de la música industrial. Llevan funcionando desde entonces hasta ahora con diversas largas interrupciones.
Peter  participa en los también míticos Psychic TV, donde conoce a John Balance con quien en 1983 forma Coil. Coil es uno de los grupos más interesantes surgidos en Inglaterra en la década de los 80 y creadores de discos donde, junto a gente como Nurse With Wound, llevaron la psicodélia a nuevos lugares. El grupo durará hasta la muerte de Balance en 2004.
Por entonces Peter resucitará a su grupo primigenio, Throbbing Gristle.
En 2008 Christopherson forma SoiSong junto al músico ruso Ivan Pavlov.


Por su parte Sergei Petrov, nos llega desde Toulouse, elemento entre ruso&polaco&bilbaino bebedor de vodka y hacedor de atmosferas electrorockanroleras. Seguro muchos lo conoceréis por su paso por diferentes saraos de la noche bilbaina, y si no, nunca es tarde….si el vodka es bueno.

Residente del Ambigú desde enero del 2005, ha estado a los platos y los pintxos en el MEM y otros eventos destacados.

Peter Martin Christopherson, a.k.a. Sleazy (born February 27, 1955) is a musician, video director and designer, and former member of the influential British design agency Hipgnosis.

He was one of the original members of the infamous Industrial Records band, Throbbing Gristle. After Throbbing Gristle he participated in the foundation of Psychic TV along with Geoffrey Rushton, aka John Balance. After his short time in Psychic TV, Christopherson formed Coil along with Balance, which lasted just under 23 years, until Balance died of a fall in their London, U.K. home. Christopherson has participated in the reuniting of Throbbing Gristle as well as composed an album for his current solo endeavor The Threshold HouseBoys Choir.

Before Coil

Born in Leeds, Peter Christopherson was a founding member of Throbbing Gristle who are credited with creating the genre industrial music before disbanding in 1981. Throbbing Gristle members Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti formed their own group while Peter Christopherson and TG's other member Genesis P-Orridge formed Psychic TV along with other musicians. John Balance met Christopherson as a Throbbing Gristle fan and the two became intimate partners. Christopherson worked on the first two Psychic TV albums, Force The Hand Of Chance and Dreams Less Sweet, joined by Balance on the second one. The two performed live several times with Psychic TV then formed on their own project, Coil. Along with Chris Carter, Christopherson has personally documented on his MySpace blog (with photographic evidence) of having played a custom-made (for him) keyboard-triggered sampler before the first sampler (Fairlight) was available in UK. While not the first sampler, this was a major step towards the use of samplers in live performance, as noted by Christopherson himself.

Solo projects and TG reformation

Despite Christopherson's long and extensive history as a musical artist, he has only released a single track under the name Peter Christopherson. The song, "In My Head A Crystal Sphere Of Heavy Fluid", appeared on the compilation Foxtrot, a benefit album for former partner John Balance's rehabilitation from alcohol addiction.

In 2005, Christopherson relocated from England to Krung Thep, Thailand and undertook the project The Threshold HouseBoy's Choir. Since Christopherson's relocation he has released the final Coil CDs; The Ape Of Naples, The Remote Viewer, Black Antlers, and reissued Musick To Play In The Dark Vol. 1 and Musick To Play In The Dark Vol. 2, which were formerly being manufactured in England.

2005 also marked the reuniting of Throbbing Gristle for a few concerts. Throbbing Gristle announced a new album Part Two. The group has announced several additional concerts in 2007 to promote the album.

In 2007 Christopherson released the debut album of his solo effort The Threshold HouseBoys Choir. The album, Form Grows Rampant, is broken down into five "parts" or songs, and includes a DVD of the album set to video of Thai rituals in Krung Thep. He is guest and jury head of the 2007 Melbourne Underground Film Festival.
